For men who suffer from this aesthetic problem, researchers believe it could be due to several factors, namely an androgen deficiency secondary to castration, hypogonadism, Klinefelter&#8217;s syndrome, or estrogen or antiandrogen therapy for prostate cancer (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10324940\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Race\/Ethnicity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Studies have suggested that your race may play some role in whether or not you have cellulite. The force from the extra fat causes the tissues that connect these layers to become less stable and imbalanced. Once these connective tissues are altered and weakened, the final result is more pronounced dimples and depressions (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10324940\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Estrogen<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is suspected that because women are more likely to develop dimples on their buttocks and other areas primarily in the pelvic area, estrogen may be involved in the development of cellulite.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research has suggested that the progression of cellulite is exacerbated during adolescence, pregnancy, nursing, chronic oral contraceptive use, or hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal females. These are all times when a woman\u2019s body is in a high estrogen state (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10324940\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Age<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As we age, we lose some of the collagen and elastin in the skin, which makes the skin thinner and less elastic\/stretchy.
